About the Founder: Sara Castelluccio

Mission Makers was founded by Sara, a special education teacher and mom of three children with 15 years of experience supporting students with ADHD and executive functioning challenges.

Throughout her career, Sara worked closely with bright, capable students who continued to struggle with focus, organization, and follow-through. While these skills were often explained, modeled, and prompted throughout the school day, she noticed something important was missing-true, consistent opportunities to practice them in real, meaningful ways.

Too often, students were told what to do rather than given the time, space, and support to try, make mistakes, receive immediate feedback, and try again. And without that repetition and hands-on experience, lasting change was difficult to achieve.

As Sara’s experience grew, so did her understanding that within the structure and demands of the traditional school setting, there are natural limits to how much individualized, real-time skill practice students can receive.

That realization sparked an idea.

Mission Makers was created to fill that gap-offering kids a place to actively build executive functioning skills through engaging, mission-based experiences where they can practice, reflect, and grow with guidance every step of the way.

Sara’s goal is simple: to help kids not just understand what to do-but to confidently do it on their own in real life.

Sara’s approach is both energetic and structured-creating an environment where kids feel comfortable, supported, and motivated, while also being held to clear expectations. She is approachable and builds strong relationships with her students, but remains intentional and consistent in guiding their growth. With a deep commitment to clear communication, Sara ensures that both children and parents always understand what skills are being worked on, why they matter, and how progress is being made. Her goal is to create a space where kids feel safe to try, supported to improve, and confident in their ability to succeed.
